Alzheimer’s disease is the single largest unaddressed public health threat facing the nation today. As many as 5.4 million Americans are living with the disease and nearly 15 million are acting as family caregivers. The baby boomer generation is growing older and age is the greatest risk factor for developing Alzheimer’s.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a fundraising event sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association to raise money to help the Alzheimer’s Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer’s. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
CareWorks is walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the September 22, 2012 Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s ™, we are committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
CareWorks focuses daily on providing excellent services to families that need additional care for a loved one that has physical limitations or may have Alzheimer’s / Dementia like symptoms.
Together we can make a difference. CareWorks has formed a team to participate in The Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We cleverly named our team CareWalks. We hope you can join us on the morning of Saturday, September 22 in Northwest Houston near SH249 & Louetta in the Vintage Shopping area for a short walk to show support for The Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
